NC Teacher Pay vs.
State Health Plan Increases for 2026 |
|
Neither the NC Senate or NC House proposed budgets will raise teacher salaries enough to keep up with inflation, let alone the proposed increases to state employees' health insurance. As you can see in the first chart, health insurance costs with double or even triple for state employees next year. In the second chart you can see how state employees (including teachers) will actually lose money staying in these jobs.
We already have a shortage of certified teachers in this state. Teacher pay "increases" usually only slightly help new, beginning teachers and leave veterans in the dust. NC ranks 43rd in the nation in teacher pay! Make teacher compensation a priority as you contact your state legislators! We have to do better for our students! |

GOD AND COUNTRY is a film that examines the rise and dangers of Christian nationalism, the belief that the U.S. should be governed as a Christian nation. It explores how this ideology blurs the separation of Church and State and has been fueled by a radical political movement. The film is aimed at the nearly 200 million Americans who identify as Christian, especially those concerned about their faith being co-opted by extremist politics. Featuring respected Christian leaders, the documentary seeks to challenge the narrative of Christian nationalism from within the faith. Their voices are intended to persuade and empower viewers to reclaim a more inclusive vision of Christianity. Available to stream on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Peacock. |
